Health Impact Assessment of Different Workers in Central and North Kashmir

Abstract: Health impact assessment of the different types of workers showed the prevalence of musculoskeletal, respiratory, gastrointestinal, ophthalmic, ENT and dermal symptoms with varying degrees of prevalence. The overall prevalence of musculoskeletal complaints particularly in the lower/upper back, leg pain, arm pain, knee pain, neck pain and headache was relatively higher compared to the rest of the occupational symptoms. Prevalence of lower/upper back problem was found higher among drivers followed by tailors, blacksmiths, carpenters and weavers due to awkward working postures and long hours of working. The prevalence of respiratory and ENT disorders was higher among blacksmiths, ophthalmic problems among weavers and tailors and dermal disorder among carpenters. Comparative analysis of the tailor health status across gender and work place showed that the symptoms were more prevalent in the shop based female tailors compared to the home based female tailors while as in case of males the symptoms were more prevalent in home-based tailors compared to the shop-based ones.

Effect of Moisture Content, Seed Varieties and Seed Orientation on the Mechanical Properties of African Oak (Afzelia africana) Seeds

ABSTRACT: The effect of moisture content on the mechanical properties of agricultural material is essential during design and adjustment of machines used during harvest, cleaning, separation, handling and storage. This study determined some mechanical properties of two varieties of African Oak seeds in Nigeria under different moisture contents range of 8 to 17 % (w.b) and three different seed orientation. The mechanical analysis of the samples tested showed that seed orientations, variety and moisture content had a significant effect on the mechanical properties. The correlation that existed between moisture content and the force-deformation properties was statistically significant at (P≤0.05) level. It is economical to crack the small and large samples at the major axis and at 11.0% moisture content in order to reduce energy and strength demand when necessary to crack and compress the samples properly. This research has generated data that are efficiently enough to design and fabricate processing and storage structures for small variety and large variety of African Oak seeds.

SEROPREVALENCE OF SMALL RUMINANT BRUCELLOSIS IN ETHIOPIA: SYSTEMATIC REVIEW AND META-ANALYSIS

ABSTRACT: Objectives: The purpose of this research is to perform a meta-analysis and systematic review on seroprevalence of small ruminant brucellosis in Ethiopia. Methods: The data searching journal like PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus, Embase and Google Scholar was used to search the articles. All articles are screened, which was reported seroprevalence of small ruminant brucellosis in Ethiopia to be included in the study. This systematic review and meta-analysis included 19 papers. Meta-analysis using random-effects models were made to calculate the pooled seroprevalence of brucellosis. Results: The study determined that the estimated pooled seroprevalence of small ruminant brucellosis was 3.0% (95% CI: 0.02, 0.03). According to the subgroup analysis, a statistically significant difference was found between the disease and the study region, publication year, laboratory technique used and studies years. Subgroup analysis by study regions the highest prevalence was observed in the Oromia region, with a prevalence of 3%, whereas the lowest prevalence was reported in the Amhara region, with a prevalence of 1%.  Additionally, there was some indication of publication bias in papers reporting the prevalence of small ruminant brucellosis in Ethiopia (Egger's test, p = 0.001).  Conclusions: This analysis demonstrates the high seroprevalence of small ruminant brucellosis in Ethiopia and the necessity of suitable intervention strategies, such as increased public awareness creations and vaccination campaigns, as well as ongoing surveillance to manage and prevent brucellosis in cattle husbandry methods.

ABSTRACT: One of the global challenges facing the humanity in the 21st century is to improve the sustainabl socio-economic development of countries. Thus, significant results have been achieved in Azerbaijan's socio-economic development over the past decade. The main reason for this is the implementation of large economic projects to ensure continued development in Azerbaijan. Innovative development of the economy is associated with the solution of the problem of promotion of innovation, the formation and development of innovative entrepreneurship, fundamental tax reforms and elimination of staff shortages in this area. The most important thing here is that the future state of the Republic of Azerbaijan will find the key government program "Strategic roadmap for key sectors of the national economy". The socio-economic successes of Azerbaijan in recent years have also been reflected in the reports of reputable international rating agencies. Azerbaijan has been included in the top 20 reformist countries in the World Bank's Doing Business rating. In total, it ranks 34th out of 190 countries. The country is ranked ninth according to the Business Establishment Index. In this report, Azerbaijan entered the top five in the world in terms of starting a business by simplifying business registration and was ranked as one of the best practice countries.[17]. President Ilham Aliyev said at a conference on the results of the first year of implementation of the “State Program on socio-economic development of the regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023”. to raise the level of competitive states. Therefore, given the challenges of the modern world, rapid development in the region will continue. Taking into account all these pressing scientific issues, the article has become a research problem in the field of industry, agriculture, entrepreneurship and innovation in terms of effective implementation of the strategic roadmap and the importance of sustainable socio-economic development of Azerbaijan in general.

Characterization of Tunisian carob pods (Ceratonia siliqua L.)

and processed juice

Abstract: The present manuscript presents a contribution to give value addition to the Tunisian carob pods by the production of natural juice. It illustrates the main nutritional composition of carob pods as the raw material, some properties of carob juice processed with hot water extraction (50 °C for 2 h) and the effects of thermal pasteurization (70 °C for 15 min) as a preservation process. The characterization of carob pods showed a high amount of sugar and low levels of lipids. The characterization of corresponding juice showed high viscosity, high content of soluble sugars and absence of pathogenic flora. The effects of juice pasteurization on color, microflora and vitamin C content were investigated. An important reduction in microflora number was observed. Significant increases were also observed in color and clarity values and significant decrease was detected in vitamin C content in pasteurized juice compared to raw juice. The outcomes of this work suggest the industrial production of natural carob juice.

Assessment Of Helicobacter Pylori Eradication Treatment On Platelet Count In Patients With Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura

Abstract: The impact of Helicobacter pylori eradication on the platelet count in patients with Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura is controversial. In this clinical trial, the effects of HP eradication on platelet count was assessed and analyzed. Forty Iranian patients with ITP were assessed in two groups. One group was treated with amoxicillin, clarithromycin and omeprazole. The other group received similar amounts of placebo. The platelet counts were analyzed before treatment and during the first, second and third months after treatment. The mean platelet count before treatment in the intervention and control groups were, 67.85˟103 mm3 and 69.4˟103 mm3, respectively (p=0.82). In the third month after treatment, it was 107.15˟103 mm3 in the intervention group and the 71.15˟103 mm3 in the control group (p<0.001). Repeated measures analysis confirmed the positive effect of helicobacter pylori eradication on platelet count (p=0.007). In this study, it was found that helicobacter pylori eradication in patients with immune thrombocytopenic purpura induced a dramatic increase in platelets count.

ACE gene diversity and its relationship to some anthropometric and physiological measurements and the digital level of the anaerobic endurance athlete as a function of selection

Abstract: Research aim: We are identifying the relationship between the variation of the angiotensin gene ACE II/ID/DD and some anthropometric and physiological measurements and the digital level in anaerobic endurance athletes as a function of selection. Research question: What is the relationship between the variation of the angiotensin gene ACE II/ID/DD and some anthropometric and physiological measurements and the digital level in an anaerobic endurance athlete as a function of selection? Research methodology: The researchers used the descriptive method (for survey studies) as it suits the nature of this research. The research sample: The sample was chosen deliberately, represented by short-distance anaerobic endurance athletes who excelled in the speed component, the number of which was (9) players registered in sports clubs affiliated with the Egyptian Athletics Federation - Assiut branch. Results: There is a strong direct correlation between anthropometric measurements and some physiological measurements (systolic blood pressure) with the ACE gene, where the calculated “t” value ranged between (0.56 and 0.90), It is also clear that there is an inverse correlation between fat percentage and body mass index with the ACE gene, as the calculated “t” value reached (0. -61 and 0. -52), There is a strong direct correlation between the digital level and the ACE gene, where the calculated “t” value ranged between (0.85), There is also no correlation between the rest of the other measurements under study with the ACE gene, as the calculated “t” value ranged between (0.12 and 0.25). Conclusions: The results showed that the percentage of occurrence of the sub gene (ID) was (0.44), the sub gene (DD) appeared at a percentage of (0.56), and the gene (II) did not appear in the anaerobic tolerance group, that there is a strong direct correlation between the digital level and the ACE gene, where the calculated “t” value ranged between (0.85), that there is a strong direct correlation between anthropometric measurements and some physiological measurements (systolic blood pressure) with the ACE gene, where the calculated “t” value ranged between (0.56 : 0.90). It is also clear from the previous table that there is an inverse correlation between the fat percentage and the body mass index with the ACE gene, where the calculated “t” value reached (0.61-) (0.52-), and there is no correlation between the other measurements under study with the ACE gene, as the calculated “t” value ranged between (0.12 : 0.25). Recommendations: Selection of players for activities that require anaerobic endurance based on the ACE DD/ID genotype, Using molecular biology technology by conducting tests to analyze deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) to determine the Genotypes of players and their use in the modern sports selection process.
