Abstract: A taxonomic classification system based on the composition of the test wall, the number and arrangement of chambers, and the morphology of the aperture was used to identify 45 species from 24 genera. Principally Ammonia, Elphiedium, Rosalina, and Quinquloculina represented groupings. The described species' taxonomic position is still up for debate. In the current study, we sequenced the 18S ribosomal RNA (rDNA) gene, a widely used genetic marker that can assist with species-level analysis and biodiversity studies. Majority of Rotallidae and Nummulitidae foraminifera groupings were further identified using a molecular technique. Molecular findings matched similar diversity dominated by the Phylum Retaria in the Order Rotaliida and the Family Nummulitidae. Possibly, the DNA region applied does not reflect enough discriminatory power to differentiate amongst closely related foraminifera species. Therefore, different markers, such as 28S rDNA and ITS rDNA, showing high discriminatory powers should be tested in future.

Study of chicken PMEL17 gene polymorphism using DNA sequencing method in chicken and their effects on protein function

Abstract: The premelanosome protein 17 gene (PMEL17) plays an important role in plumage/coat pigmentation in a variety of taxa. The transmembrane protein encoded by PMEL17 is responsible for the formation of amyloid fibrils in melanosomes, the striations upon which melanin is deposited. In this paper, the genetic diversity of a partial coding region of PMEL17 gene was investigated in Iraqi native chicken breeds using single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) method. DNA was extracted from 117 blood samples and a 428-bp fragment of PMEL17 gene was sequenced following PCR amplification. A total of eight SNPs, including four nonsynonymous (AY636125:g.1981C>T, AY636125:g.2128C>A, AY636125:g.2140C>T, and AY636125:g.2167A>T) and four synonymous (AY636125:g.1928C>T, AY636125:g.1992C>T, AY636125:g.2127C>T, and AY636125:g.2162G>A) mutations were detected with an allelic frequency of 0.92/0.08, 0.66/0.34, 0.95/0.05, 0.89/0.11, 0.97/0.03, 0.96/0.04, 0.28/0.72, and 0.32/0.68, respectively. The possible impacts of amino acid substitutions on physicochemical properties and three dimensional structures of translated proteins were also investigated. According to the results, one of the nonsynonymous mutations (AY636125:g.2162G>A) significantly altered the isoelectric point and net charge, while the others did not have significant effect on these indices. Given the high genetic diversity of PMEL17 gene in Iraqi chickens and potential effects of at least one SNP on protein function, this gene may be a suitable marker to investigate its association with plumage color in domestic chicken.

Physical Evaluation and in Vitro Bioequivalence Study of Marketed Aspirin Enteric Coated Tablets in KSA

Abstract

Purpose: The main objective of this study is to evaluate the in-vitro bio equivalency of enteric coated Aspirin tablets in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Methods: Two available brands of Aspirin enteric coated tablets were randomly collected from various pharmacies, and were then coded as A (DISPRIN) and B (JUSPRIN). An innovator Aspirin enteric coated tablet was also procured from a local community pharmacy. Pure Aspirin drug was procured from Sigma-Aldrich. General quality assessment such as weight variation, hardness, friability, disintegration test, and a dissolution study were performed as per USP guidelines.

Results: All A and B brands passed the weight variation test, as no more than two tablets failed, in all cases. The hardness test results for the innovator, and brands A and B, were recorded as 4.91, 5.25 and 4.58 kg, respectively. The friability test was also carried out for the innovator and brands A and B, whereby all experienced weight loss of 0.086%, 0.030% and 0.077%, respectively.  Although the results of the disintegration test made it clear that the innovator, as well as brands A and B, did not disintegrate in an acidic medium, all tablets disintegrated in a pH 6.8 buffer solution in 19.36, 21.58 and 15.13 minutes, respectively. There were no significant variations in the dissolution profiles or in the release profiles of the innovator, nor in brands A and B. There was a release of drug in a basic medium within one hour (90.19%, 82.04% and 87.64%, respectively).  Finally, similarity factors (f2) were calculated for brands A and B, which were 72.12% and 88.72%, respectively.

Conclusion: On the basis of in-vitro tests, brands A and B are considered bioequivalent and interchangeable, while brand B is closer to the innovator in terms of hardness, disintegration and dissolution profile.

NOVEL HIGH CANE, SUGAR RESILIENT AND EARLY MATURING SUGARCANE VARIETY CPF 250 FOR PUNJAB PROVINCE

Abstract:

CPF-250 Sugarcane cultivar developed through the research conducted by Sugarcane Research Institute, Faisalabad and released for growers other than river belt of Punjab Province during 2019. The parentage of the variety is CP 89-879 X CP 90-956. The fuzz of the variety imported during 2002 from Sugarcane Breeding Research Station, Canal Point, USA. The seedling number assigned in 2003 as S2003-US-127 and put in the preliminary replicated National Uniform yield Trial and adaptability trials for comparison with reference cultivars HSF-240, CPF-249 and SPF-234 and CPF-246. It matures in 240 – 270 days. Its planting time is 15th February to 15th March & whole month of September. It has 111.3 t ha-1 cane yield, 14.1 t ha-1 sugar yield, 12.72 % sugar recovery and higher economic Index. CPF 250 is resistant to red rot and smut. As it matures earlier thus, farmers can grow wheat crop timely. Cultivation of this CPF 250 prolong the crushing season being early maturing variety.

Abstract

Background and aim: To the best of our knowledge, there have been only a few articles published that discuss the ultrasound appearance of the plantar fascia after treatment with extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) on plantar fasciitis in Kuwait. Thus, our aim was to study the effect of ESWT on plantar fasciitis, as well as, sonographic evaluation of the plantar fascia thickness after ESWT treatment in patients with chronic plantar fasciitis in Kuwait.

Materials and methods:  Thirty Kuwaiti patients with chronic planter fasciitis and twenty-fife healthy individuals as control were included in this study. Sonographic evaluation of the plantar fascia thickness was done at baseline and 1.5 month after ESWT treatment.

Results:  A highly statistically significant reduction in VAS from 8.0 ± 1.4 to 1.2 ±1.0 to 1.2 ±1.0 at 1.5 month after ESWT Treatment was noticed (P < 0.001) and improvement of functions by assessment of Roles & Maudsley score. Moreover, there was a significant reduction effect of ultrasound measured thickness of the plantar fascia from 5.0 ± 1.2 mm to 4.3±0.3 mm at 1.5 month after ESWT treatment in patients with plantar fasciitis group (P < 0.001).

Conclusion: The major therapeutic finding is that ESWT resulted in significant pain relief from plantar fasciitis and improvement of functions, as well as, reduction of ultrasound measured thickness of the plantar fascia at 1.5 month after treatment. ESWT seem to be effective on pain, foot functions, and fascia thickness in chronic plantar fasciitis.

Moderating Effect of Work Group Support on the Relation between Work Demand and Emotional Exhaustion among Genecology Physicians

ABSTRACT

Background: Gynaecology practice demands psychological resistance, hard work, and persistence in delivering optimal patient care. The high job demand in terms of clinical diagnosis, careful prescription of medication, complex treatment decision making, and extra time services in gynecology occupations cause emotional turmoil among physicians. As a result, they experience substantial emotional exhaustion. The emotional exhaustion is imperative to control for better work performance, and the literature suggested that workgroup support found to be the negative predictor of emotional exhaustion. Therefore the current study aimed at investigating the moderating role of workgroup support between work demand and emotional exhaustion among Pakistani gynecology physicians. 

Methods: To fill the previous gap, the cross-sectional research design was used to investigate the moderating role workgroup support between work demand and emotional exhaustion among gynecology physicians of Islamabad. A total of 287 males and females from the age range of 25-40 years were selected through convenient sampling. Maslach Burnout inventory, work demand, and workgroup support scales were used to collect the information from the participants. 

Results: The results of the current study suggested the positive relationship between work demand and emotional exhaustion. While workgroup support found to be negatively correlated with emotional exhaustion. Furthermore, the workgroup support found to be a moderator between work demand and emotional exhaustion.

Conclusions: The findings of the current study depicted the significance of workgroup support in an organizational setting. However, the sample size was too modest to generalize the results of the present study. Therefore, further investigation would be performed to increase applicability.

Adipose tissue–derived mesenchymal stem cells restorates damaged ovary and activates primordial follicles via pten/akt/foxo3a pathway.

Abstract

18 Wistar albino female rats were divided into three groups. Control group; C, Cyclophosphamide group; CTX, Cyclophosphamide + Mesenchymal stem cell; CTX+SC. CTX and CTX+SC were injected intraperitoneally with 50 mg / kg cyclophosphamide on the first day and 8 mg / kg cyclophosphamide was injected daily for the following 13 days .15 days after the first day of cyclophosphamide injection, we injected adipose tissue–derived mesenchymal stem cells(ADMSC) (50,000 mesenchymal stem cells in 0.05ml FBS per ovary) in CTX+SC group directly into both ovaries After 8 weeks from the stem cell injection, we sacrificed the rats and removed the ovaries of the rats. Primordial follicles were evaluated for PTEN, p-PTEN, AKT, p-AKT, FOXO3a, p-FOXO3a proteins by using immunohistochemistry, andsubsequently H-score analyses were performed.

Expression  of PTEN and AKT was higher in control than in CTX and CTX+SC (p < 0.05). The positive reaction of FOXO3a was observed in the nucleus in the control group, in the cytoplasm in the CTX group, and in the nucleus and cytoplasm in the CTX + SC group.The mean primordal follicle count was the highest in Control. The number of secondary and antral follicles in CTX+SC were higher than C and CTX.

The results of PTEN expression suggest that the effect of CTX on the PTEN pathway is acute. However, when CTX is applied, it inflictsserious damage on the ovarian tissue, which turns out to be irreversible. ADMSCs restorate ovarium tissue and activate primordial follicles.
